Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.

  3. 3

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Rub this mixture all over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 4

    Bake the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours until the ribs are tender.

  2. 5

    Make the BBQ Sauce

While the ribs are baking, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, mustard, smoked paprika, and black pepper in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the mixture begins to bubble. Reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Finishing the Ribs

  1. 6

    Glaze the Ribs

After the ribs are tender, remove them from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Brush the BBQ sauce generously over the ribs.

  2. 7

    Broil the Ribs

Place the ribs under the broiler for about 5-7 minutes until the sauce caramelizes and becomes sticky. Watch closely to prevent burning.

  3. 8

    Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes, then cut between the bones to serve. Enjoy your Outback-style ribs!
