Cooking Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 4-5 cups of water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt.

Cook Pasta
Add 2 cups of penne pasta to the boiling water. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 10-12 minutes.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.
Making Sauce

Heat Olive Oil
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

Sauté Garlic
Add 3 minced garlic cloves to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn.

Add Tomatoes
Stir in 2 cups of halved cherry tomatoes. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the tomatoes begin to soften.

Combine Ingredients
Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the tomatoes. Mix well to combine.

Stir in 1 cup of chopped basil leaves, 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Mix until everything is well combined and heated through.
