Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty, about 3/4 inch thick.

Cook the Burger Patty

  1. 3

    Heat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the beef reaches your desired level of doneness.

Toast the Buns

  1. 5

    Butter the Buns

Spread butter on the cut sides of each burger bun.

  2. 6

    Toast the Buns

Place the buns, butter side down, on the grill or skillet for about 2-3 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

Assemble the Burgers

  1. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

Start by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Add the cooked cheeseburger patties on top, followed by a slice of tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard to taste.

  2. 8

    Complete the Burger

Place the top half of the bun on each burger to complete the assembly. Serve immediately.
