Method
Chicken Preparation
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, mix olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Add the chicken breasts and coat them well with the marinade. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Barbecue Sauce Preparation
Make the Sauce
In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Stir well and simmer over medium heat for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Remove from heat and set aside.
Grilling the Chicken
Grill the Chicken
Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes. Place the chicken breasts on the preheated grill. Grill for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
Baste with Sauce
During the last few minutes of grilling, baste the chicken with the prepared barbecue sauce to enhance flavor and add a sticky glaze.
Serving
Serve
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and allow it to rest for about 5 minutes. Serve the grilled chicken with additional barbecue sauce on the side.
