Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Muddle Blackberries

In a cocktail shaker, add 6 fresh blackberries. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush the blackberries to release their juices.

  2. 2

    Add Liquid Ingredients

To the muddled blackberries, add 2 oz of vodka, 1 oz of blackberry liqueur, 0.5 oz of fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 oz of simple syrup.

  3. 3

    Add Ice

Fill the cocktail shaker with 1 cup of ice cubes. This will chill the drink while mixing.

  4. 4

    Shake the Mixture

Securely close the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.

  5. 5

    Strain into Glass

Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass to remove the blackberry pulp and ice.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish the martini with 2 fresh blackberries and a twist of lemon peel on top. Serve immediately.
