Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Ribs
Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F). Rinse the pork spare ribs under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Place them on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
- 2
Make the Guava Barbecue Sauce
In a bowl, mix together guava juice, brown sugar, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- 3
Coat the Ribs
Generously brush the guava barbecue sauce over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Reserve some sauce for basting later.
- 4
Bake the Ribs
Cover the ribs with another piece of aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the meat is tender.
- 5
Glaze and Broil
Remove the foil and baste the ribs with the reserved guava barbecue sauce. Increase the oven temperature to 220°C (425°F) and broil for an additional 10-15 minutes until caramelized.
- 6
Garnish and Serve
Remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes, then slice between the bones. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with extra guava barbecue sauce on the side.
