Pork Belly Skewers
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, mix the grated ginger, miso paste, soy sauce, honey, and minced garlic to create the marinade for the pork belly.
- 2
Marinate the Pork Belly
Cut the pork belly into 1-inch cubes and add them to the marinade. Mix well to ensure all pieces are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for best flavor.
- 3
Prepare the Pickled Pear
In a small bowl, toss the sliced pear with rice vinegar and let it sit for 30 minutes to pickle slightly.
- 4
Skewer the Pork
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated pork belly cubes onto the skewers.
- 5
Grill the Skewers
Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the pork is browned and cooked through.
- 6
Serve
Remove the skewers from the grill, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve with the pickled pear on the side.
