Method

Preparing the Fries

  1. 1

    Cook the French Fries

Preheat your oven or fryer according to the package instructions for frozen French fries. If using an oven, spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet and lightly drizzle with vegetable oil. If using a deep fryer, heat the oil to the appropriate temperature.

  2. 2

    Fry the Fries

Cook the fries according to package directions until golden brown and crispy, typically about 20-25 minutes in an oven or 5-7 minutes in a deep fryer. Remove them from the heat and set aside.

Assembling the Loaded Cheese Fries

  1. 3

    Layer the Ingredients

On a large serving plate or a baking dish, spread the cooked French fries evenly.

  2. 4

    Add Cheese and Bacon

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the fries, followed by the crumbled bacon.

  3. 5

    Top with Jalapeños

Evenly distribute the sliced jalapeños over the cheese and bacon.

  4. 6

    Melt the Cheese

If desired, place the loaded fries in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Alternatively, you can microwave the dish for 1-2 minutes.

  5. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Once the cheese is melted, remove the dish from the oven/microwave. Top with chopped green onions and dollops of sour cream before serving.
