Method

Prepare the Beef Patty

1

Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Use your hands to mix the ingredients until well combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

2

Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, ensuring they are slightly larger than the burger buns as they will shrink while cooking.

Cook the Burger

3

Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

4

Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness.

Assemble the Burger

5

Prepare the Toppings

While the patties are cooking, wash and chop the lettuce, slice the tomato, and prepare the pickles.

6

Build the Burger

Once the patties are cooked to your desired doneness, remove them from the heat. Toast the burger buns if desired. Place a patty on the bottom bun, then layer with lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
