Method

Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Slice the tomato into thin rounds. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Pickles

Slice the pickles into thin rounds or quarters, depending on your preference.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Bun

Slice the buns in half and lightly toast them on a skillet or in a toaster.

Cooking the Patty

  1. 4

    Season the Beef

In a bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined.

  2. 5

    Form the Patties

Divide the seasoned beef into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, approximately 1/2 inch thick.

  3. 6

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, then add the cooked beef patty with melted cheese, followed by a slice of tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.

  2. 8

    Complete the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun. Press down gently to secure the ingredients.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve the Burger

Serve immediately with your choice of side, such as fries or a salad.
