Preparation

Preparation

1. Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

3. Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, mix the melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

4. Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Baking

5. Prepare the Baking Pan

Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.

6. Pour Batter

Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

7. Add Blueberries

Evenly distribute the fresh blueberries on top of the batter.

8. Bake

Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

9. Cool

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Serving

10. Prepare Topping

Once the cake is cooled, dust it with powdered sugar and sprinkle lemon zest over the top for added flavor.

11. Slice and Serve

Slice the cake into wedges and serve it with a side of fresh blueberries, if desired.
