Baked Ziti Ingredients

Method

Baked Ziti Directions

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 2

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the ziti pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  3. 3

    Prepare Cheese Mixture

In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.

  4. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ziti, marinara sauce, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Stir until the pasta is evenly coated.

  5. 5

    Layer the Ziti

In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread half of the pasta mixture. Spoon the ricotta mixture over the pasta, then top with the remaining pasta mixture. Finally, sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese on top.

  6. 6

    Bake

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  7. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven and let it sit for 10 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil if desired before serving.
