Baking Instructions
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, applesauce, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
Add Chocolate Chips
Fold in the dairy-free chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Scoop Dough
Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
Cool
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
