Biscuit Ingredients

Method

Biscuit Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

2

Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

3

Cut in Butter

Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut in the unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

4

Add Buttermilk

Make a well in the center of the dry mixture and pour in the buttermilk. Stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

5

Shape the Dough

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Pat it into a rectangle about 1-inch thick. Fold it over on itself a couple of times for extra flakiness.

6

Cut the Biscuits

Using a biscuit cutter, cut out rounds of dough and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they touch slightly.

7

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown on top.

8

Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving warm.
