Preparation
1. Boil the Water
In a kettle, bring 2 cups of water to a boil over medium heat.
2. Add Green Tea Leaves
Once the water reaches a rolling boil, remove it from the heat and let it cool for about 2 minutes. This will bring the temperature down to about 175°F (80°C), which is ideal for green tea. Add 2 tablespoons of green tea leaves to the hot water.
3. Steep the Tea
Cover the kettle and let the tea steep for about 2-3 minutes, depending on your taste preference. Steeping longer will result in a stronger flavor.
4. Strain and Serve
After steeping, strain the tea leaves from the liquid using a fine mesh strainer or a tea infuser. Pour the green tea into cups.
