Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cake

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

  2. 2

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter together over a pot of simmering water. Stir until smooth.

  3. 3

    Mix Ingredients

Remove from heat and stir in the sugar. Let it cool slightly, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool completely.

  5. 5

    Prepare Chocolate Sauce

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until simmering. Remove from heat, add chocolate, butter, and sugar. Stir until smooth and glossy.

  6. 6

    Make Raspberry Coulis

In a saucepan, combine raspberries, sugar, and water. Cook over medium heat until raspberries break down. Strain to remove seeds and let cool.

  7. 7

    Serve

Slice the cooled cake and serve with warm chocolate sauce and raspberry coulis drizzled on top.
