Tempura Banana Ingredients
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Bananas
Peel the ripe bananas and cut them in half lengthwise. Set aside.
- 2
Make the Tempura Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and ice-cold water. Stir gently until just combined (the batter should be lumpy).
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep pan or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Coat the Bananas
Dip each banana half into the tempura batter, ensuring they are fully coated.
- 5
Fry the Bananas
Carefully place the battered banana halves into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried bananas from the oil and drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
