Bento Box B Ingredients

Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare Sushi Rice

Rinse 1 cup of sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to the package instructions or using a rice cooker. Once cooked, let it cool slightly and mix in rice vinegar, sugar, and salt to taste.

  2. 2

    Slice Salmon for Sashimi

Using a sharp knife, slice the salmon into thin pieces for sashimi. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Prepare Seaweed Salad

If using store-bought seaweed salad, simply remove it from packaging. If making from scratch, soak dried seaweed in warm water for 10 minutes, drain, and toss with sesame oil, vinegar, and sesame seeds.

  4. 4

    Assemble Sushi Rolls

Using a bamboo mat, place a sheet of nori on it. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a small border. Place tuna, salmon, and any other desired fillings in the center, then roll tightly. Repeat for the Alaska roll with crab and avocado.

  5. 5

    Plate the Bento Box

In a bento box or compartmentalized plate, arrange the sushi rolls, salmon sashimi, seaweed salad, and red snapper in an aesthetically pleasing manner. Garnish with wasabi and pickled ginger if desired.
