Method

Prepare the Vegetables

  1. 1

    Roast the Fingerlings

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Slice the fingerling potatoes in half and toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread them on a baking sheet and roast for about 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.

  2. 2

    Blanch the Broccolini

While the potatoes are roasting, bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the broccolini and cook for 2-3 minutes until tender. Drain and immediately plunge into ice water to stop the cooking process.

Cook the Steak and Peppers

  1. 3

    Grill the Hanger Steak

Season the hanger steak with salt and pepper. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Shishito Peppers

In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if needed and sauté the shishito peppers for about 5 minutes until blistered and tender. Season with salt.

Prepare the Gremolata

  1. 5

    Make the Gremolata

In a small bowl, combine lemon zest, minced garlic, and chopped parsley. Mix well and set aside.

Serve the Dish

  1. 6

    Plate the Meal

Slice the hanger steak and arrange it on a plate with roasted fingerlings, blanched broccolini, and sautéed shishitos. Drizzle the lemon gremolata over the steak and serve immediately.
