Instructions

1

Prepare the Rice

Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak it in water for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.

2

Cook the Rice

Drain the soaked rice and steam it in a bamboo or metal steamer for about 30 minutes until cooked and sticky.

3

Make the Coconut Sauce

In a saucepan over low heat, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Stir until the sugar dissolves, but do not let it boil.

4

Combine Rice and Sauce

Once the rice is done steaming, transfer it to a large bowl and pour about 3/4 of the coconut sauce over it. Mix well and let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the sauce.

5

Prepare the Mango

While the rice is resting, peel and slice the fresh mangoes.

6

Serve

To serve, place a portion of the sticky rice on a plate, drizzle with the remaining coconut sauce, and top with sliced mango. Garnish with sesame seeds or mung beans.
