Preparation Instructions
1. Prepare the Chocolate Base
In a medium saucepan, combine the milk (or water) and Oaxacan chocolate tablets. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the chocolate is fully melted and integrated into the liquid.
2. Add Flavorings
Once the chocolate is melted, add the cinnamon stick, sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
3. Simmer
Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it is hot and well blended.
4. Strain and Serve
Remove the cinnamon stick. If desired, strain the hot chocolate through a fine mesh sieve to remove any remaining chocolate bits. Serve hot in mugs and enjoy!
