Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

  3. 3

    Cut in Butter

Add the cold butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. 4

    Add Milk

Pour in the milk and stir gently until the dough comes together. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Shape the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently 3-4 times. Pat it into a 1-inch thick rectangle.

  6. 6

    Cut Biscuits

Use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out biscuits. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

  8. 8

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
