Pie Crust

Method

Pie Assembly and Baking

1

Prepare the Pie Crust

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the mixture forms a ball. Divide the dough in half, shape into discs, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

2

Roll Out the Dough

On a lightly floured surface, roll out one disc of dough to fit your pie pan. Place it in the pan and trim the excess dough hanging over the edges. Repeat with the second disc if you're making a top crust.

3

Fill the Pie

Add your choice of filling, such as fresh berries, apples, or pumpkin filling. Make sure to evenly distribute the filling.

4

Bake the Pie

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Bake the pie for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for 30-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbling.

5

Cool and Serve

Once baked, remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for at least 1 hour before serving. Enjoy with a cup of coffee!
