1. Marinate the Chuck Roll
In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, black pepper, and sesame oil. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved. Add the prime chuck roll to the marinade, ensuring it is fully coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
2. Prepare for Cooking
Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat. Remove the chuck roll from the marinade and let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
3. Cook the Chuck Roll
Place the marinated chuck roll on the grill or in the oven. Cook for about 25-30 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (medium-rare) to 145°F (medium).
4. Rest and Serve
Once cooked, remove the chuck roll from the heat and let it rest for at least 10 minutes. Slice against the grain and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
