Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Espresso
Brew 240 ml of strong espresso coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature.
- 2
Mix Coffee with Liqueur
If using, mix the cooled espresso with 60 ml of coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
Cream Mixture
- 3
Whip the Cream
In a large bowl, whip 200 ml of heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- 4
Mix Mascarpone and Sugar
In another bowl, combine 500 g of mascarpone cheese, 100 g of granulated sugar, and 1 tsp of vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- 5
Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined, ensuring not to deflate the cream.
Assembly
- 6
Soak the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, making sure they are soaked but not soggy.
- 7
Layer the Tiramisu
In a rectangular dish, arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the ladyfingers.
- 8
Repeat Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by the remaining mascarpone cream mixture on top.
Finishing Touch
- 9
Dust with Cocoa Powder
Sift 30 g of cocoa powder evenly over the top of the tiramisu.
- 10
Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld.
