Mix the Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt until the sugar and cocoa powder are fully dissolved.

Melt the Chocolate
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chopped dark chocolate in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.

Combine Chocolate and Base
Allow the melted chocolate to cool slightly, then stir it into the chocolate mixture until well combined.

Chill the Mixture
Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until it is completely chilled.

Churn the Ice Cream
Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
