Directions

  1. 1

    Bake the Potatoes

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Wash the baking potatoes thoroughly and prick them with a fork several times. Place them directly on the oven rack and bake for about 45-60 minutes or until tender when pierced with a fork.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Cheddar Cheese Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sweet cream butter. Once melted, add the flour and whisk continuously for about 2 minutes. Gradually add the milk, whisking until smooth and thickened. Stir in the New York cheddar cheese until melted and combined. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Scallions

While the potatoes are baking, wash and chop the scallions, separating the green tops from the white parts.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Tableside Baked Potato

Once the potatoes are done baking, remove them from the oven and let cool slightly. Cut a slit on the top of each potato and gently squeeze the ends to open them up. Add a generous amount of the cheddar cheese sauce and top with chopped scallions.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the tableside baked potatoes warm, allowing guests to add extra toppings or seasonings as desired.
