Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the New York strip steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps achieve even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil, then season generously with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Ensure all sides are well-coated.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Pan

Place a cast-iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat. Allow it to get hot for about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Sear the Steak

Add the steak to the hot pan and sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice brown crust forms. Flip the steak and sear for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare.

  5. 5

    Add Butter and Herbs

In the last minute of cooking, add the butter and fresh rosemary to the pan. Spoon the melted butter over the steak for added flavor.

  6. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  7. 7

    Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy your Manhattan Cut New York Strip!
