Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Plums

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan. Arrange the halved plums cut side up in the bottom of the cake pan.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.

  3. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and ground cinnamon together.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Pour the batter over the arranged plums in the cake pan.

  5. 5

    Bake the Cake

Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Cool and Serve

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then carefully invert onto a serving plate. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
