Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Filling Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare Filling

In a bowl, combine the mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, chopped spinach, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Mix well.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface.

  2. 6

    Add Filling

Spread the filling mixture evenly over the surface of the rolled-out dough.

  3. 7

    Roll and Cut

Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut the log into 1-inch slices.

  4. 8

    Prepare for Baking

Arrange the slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with olive oil.

Baking

  1. 9

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 10

    Bake

Bake the slices in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

  3. 11

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil. Serve warm.
