Method
Preparation of Tater Tots
- 1
Preheat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).
- 2
Fry the Tater Tots
Carefully add frozen tater tots in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 3-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- 3
Drain and Season
Using a slotted spoon, remove the tater tots from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Season immediately with salt and black pepper.
Assembling Cheesy Bacon Tots
- 4
Add Cheese and Bacon
While the tater tots are still hot, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top, followed by crumbled bacon.
- 5
Melt the Cheese
If desired, place the loaded tater tots under a broiler for 2-3 minutes to melt the cheese further. Watch closely to prevent burning.
Serving
- 6
Serve with Sauce
Transfer the cheesy bacon tots to a serving platter. Serve hot with ketchup on the side, or any other sauces available upon request.
