Burger Patties

Toppings and Cheeses

Burger Buns

Optional Add-ons

Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and place a slice of cheddar and a slice of smoked gouda on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

If desired, lightly toast the sesame seed burger buns on the grill or skillet for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a cooked patty with melted cheese. Top with lettuce leaves, sliced tomato, pickles, and bacon strips if using. Add ketchup and mustard to taste, then cover with the top half of the bun.
