Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps in even cooking.

  2. 2

    Slice the Vegetables

While the steak is resting, thinly slice the onion and jalapenos. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Chop the Olives

Chop the black olives into small pieces and set aside.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Season the Steak

Rub the ribeye steak with olive oil, salt, and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 5

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned steak. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust according to your preferred doneness.

  3. 6

    Add Vegetables

In the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the sliced onions and jalapenos to the grill or skillet, allowing them to soften slightly.

  4. 7

    Melt the Cheese

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the steak and cover with a lid or foil to melt the cheese for about 1-2 minutes.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice into strips and place on a serving plate.

  2. 9

    Add Olives and Hot Sauce

Top the steak with the chopped black olives and drizzle with hot sauce to taste.

  3. 10

    Serve

Serve immediately while hot, enjoying the blend of flavors.
