French Fries Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into evenly sized strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
Soak the Potatoes
Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This removes excess starch and helps them become crispier.
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
Dry the Potatoes
After soaking, drain the fries and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add a batch of fries to the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Season
While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste.
Serve
Serve warm and enjoy your homemade French fries!
