Method

Preparation Directions

1

Prepare Bulgur

In a bowl, soak the bulgur wheat in 2 cups of water for about 30 minutes, or until softened. Drain any excess water.

2

Cook Onions and Pine Nuts

In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until translucent. Add the pine nuts and cook until golden brown.

3

Mix Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, sautéed onions and pine nuts, ground cinnamon, allspice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

4

Combine with Bulgur

Add the soaked bulgur wheat to the beef mixture and mix thoroughly until well combined.

5

Shape Kibbeh

Wet your hands and take a small amount of the mixture to form oval-shaped balls or patties.

6

Cook Kibbeh

In the skillet, heat the remaining olive oil. Fry the kibbeh on medium heat for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until browned and cooked through.

7

Serve

Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with yogurt or a salad.
