Preparation Steps

1

Prepare the Syrup

In a saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes. Add vanilla extract and cinnamon, stir well, and set aside to cool.

2

Prepare the Kadayif

Melt the unsalted butter in a small pan. Once melted, pour it over the kadayif dough, mixing well to ensure it is evenly coated.

3

Assemble the Dish

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Take half of the kadayif dough and spread it evenly in a greased baking dish, pressing it down firmly. Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the dough. Add the remaining kadayif on top, pressing down again.

4

Bake

Bake the assembled kadayif in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.

5

Add the Syrup

Once baked, remove from the oven and immediately pour the cooled syrup over the hot kadayif. Allow it to soak for at least 30 minutes before serving.

6

Serve

Cut into squares or diamond shapes and serve warm or at room temperature.
