Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the Delmonico steak from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature, about 30 minutes. This helps in even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to high heat. Place the seasoned steak on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into equal-sized chunks. Rinse under cold water.

  2. 6

    Boil the Potatoes

Place the potatoes in a large pot, cover with water, and add a generous pinch of salt. Bring to a boil and cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  3. 7

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Vegetable Preparation

  1. 8

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and chop the seasonal vegetables into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 9

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the vegetables and season with salt and black pepper. Sauté until tender, about 5-7 minutes.

Serving

  1. 10

    Plate the Dish

Slice the rested steak and place it on a plate alongside a generous serving of mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables.

  2. 11

    Add Sauce or Butter

Choose your preferred sauce or flavored butter to drizzle over the steak, if desired.
