Method

Cooking Pasta

1

Boil the Linguine

Fill a large pot with water, add a pinch of salt, and bring it to a boil. Add the linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Once cooked, drain and set aside.

Preparing Sausage and Vegetables

2

Cook the Italian sausage

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the Italian sausage. Cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

3

Sauté the vegetables

In the same skillet, add diced onion and bell pepper. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they start to soften. Add sliced mushrooms and continue to sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until all vegetables are tender.

4

Combine sausage and vegetables

Return the cooked sausage to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables, stirring to combine.

Making the Sauce

5

Add marinara sauce

Pour the marinara sauce into the skillet with the sausage and vegetables. Stir well to combine and allow the sauce to simmer for about 5 minutes to let the flavors meld together.

Combining Pasta and Sauce

6

Mix in linguine

Add the drained linguine to the skillet with the marinara sauce mixture. Toss everything together gently until the linguine is evenly coated with the sauce.

7

Add fresh basil

Fold in the fresh basil leaves and mix until well distributed throughout the pasta.

Serving

8

Plate and garnish

Serve the pasta hot in individual bowls. Top each serving with grated Parmesan cheese as desired.
