Method

Preparing the Sun-Dried Tomato and Basil Compote

1

Sauté the Aromatics

In a medium skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

2

Add Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Seasoning

Stir in the chopped sun-dried tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped basil. Set aside to cool slightly.

Baking the Brie

3

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

4

Prepare the Brie

Place the wheel of Brie on a baking dish lined with parchment paper. Use a sharp knife to score the top of the cheese in a crisscross pattern, being careful not to cut too deep.

5

Stuff the Brie

Spoon the sun-dried tomato and basil compote generously over the top of the Brie, ensuring it fills the scored areas.

6

Bake the Brie

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is soft and gooey.

Making the Crostinis

7

Prepare the Baguette

While the Brie is baking, slice the baguette into thin slices, about 1/2 inch thick.

8

Brush with Olive Oil

Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush each slice lightly with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder.

9

Toast the Crostinis

Place the baking sheet in the oven during the last 5-7 minutes of the Brie’s baking time, toasting until golden and crispy.

Serving

10

Plate and Serve

Once the Brie is baked and the crostinis are toasted, carefully remove them from the oven. Serve the warm Brie with the crostinis on the side, allowing guests to scoop the melty cheese and compote onto the crostinis.
