Method
Preparing the Salad Base
Wash Lettuce
Wash the Romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water.
Dry Lettuce
Pat the lettuce dry using a clean kitchen towel or salad spinner.
Chop Lettuce
Chop the Romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl.
Prepare Parmesan
Grate the Parmesan cheese and set aside for topping.
Making the Caesar Dressing
Combine Dressing Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.
Whisk Dressing
Whisk the mixture until it is well-emulsified and creamy.
Making the Herb Croutons
Preheat Oven
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cube Bread
Cut the bread into small cubes and place them in a large bowl.
Season Bread Cubes
Drizzle the olive oil over the bread cubes and sprinkle with dried oregano, garlic powder, and salt.
Toss Bread
Toss the bread cubes until evenly coated.
Arrange on Baking Sheet
Spread the bread cubes on a baking sheet in a single layer.
Bake Croutons
Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
Assembling the Salad
Add Croutons
Once the croutons are ready, add them to the bowl with the chopped Romaine lettuce.
Dress Salad
Drizzle the Caesar dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine.
Serve Salad
Top with grated Parmesan cheese and serve immediately.
