Brownie Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2

Melt Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

3

Mix Sugars

Stir the granulated sugar and brown sugar into the melted butter until well combined.

4

Add Eggs and Extracts

Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the sugar mixture. Stir until smooth.

5

Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

6

Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

7

Bake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

8

Cool

Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
