Pizza Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, combine the warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy. Add the salt and flour gradually, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- 2
Let the Dough Rise
Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
- 3
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
- 4
Assemble the Pizza
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into your desired shape. Transfer it to a pizza peel or parchment paper. Spread the ricotta cheese evenly over the crust, then sprinkle the Parmesan, Romano, and mozzarella cheeses on top.
- 5
Add Toppings
Tear the fresh basil leaves and distribute them over the cheese. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil.
- 6
Bake the Pizza
Carefully transfer the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbling and the crust is golden brown.
- 7
Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, slice it up, and serve warm.
