Flourless Chocolate Cake
Method
Directions
- 1
Prepare the Cake
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
- 2
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring until smooth.
- 3
Mix Ingredients
Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
- 4
Bake the Cake
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- 5
Cool the Cake
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- 6
Prepare the Huckleberry Sauce
In a saucepan, combine huckleberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and water. Cook over medium heat until the mixture starts to simmer and the berries burst, about 10 minutes.
- 7
Blend the Sauce
Remove from heat and let cool slightly, then blend until smooth. Strain through a fine sieve if desired.
- 8
Serve
Slice the cooled flourless chocolate cake and serve with huckleberry amazon sauce drizzled on top.
