Chicken & Waffle Ingredients
Method
Preparation Directions
Prepare the Chicken
In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, combine buttermilk and eggs. Dip the chicken tenderloins first in the wet mixture, then coat in the dry mixture. Set aside.
Fry the Chicken
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken tenderloins for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
Make the Waffle Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, mix milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
Cook the Waffles
Preheat your waffle iron. Pour the batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions until golden brown.
Prepare the Cinnamon Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine maple syrup and ground cinnamon over low heat. Stir until warm and well combined.
Assemble the Dish
Serve the fried chicken on top of the waffles, drizzled with cinnamon syrup.
