Beef and Onions

Baguette and Toppings

Method

Beef Preparation

1

Sear the Beef

Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Season the beef chuck roast with salt and black pepper. Sear the beef on all sides until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

2

Add Onions and Garlic

Add sliced onions and minced garlic to the pot. Cook until the onions are translucent, about 5 minutes.

3

Braise the Beef

Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low. Let it braise for about 3 hours or until the beef is tender and easily shredded.

Assemble the Dip

4

Prepare the Baguette

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and spread the butter on the cut sides. Place in the oven and toast for 5-7 minutes.

5

Make the Aioli

In a small bowl, mix the lemon juice with chili flakes to create the lemon chili aioli.

6

Assemble the Beef Dip

Shred the braised beef and layer it on the toasted baguette. Drizzle with Dijon mustard and top with caramelized onions. Optionally, add shredded cheddar cheese and place back in the oven for 5 minutes to melt the cheese.

7

Serve

Serve the beef dip with the lemon chili aioli and the house-made jus on the side for dipping.
