Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Clams

Rinse the clams under cold water to remove any sand or debris. Discard any clams that are open and do not close when tapped.

  2. 2

    Mince Garlic

Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves.

  3. 3

    Chop Parsley

Wash and chop the fresh parsley leaves finely.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Heat Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 5

    Sauté Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn it.

  3. 6

    Add Clams

Add the cleaned clams to the skillet, stirring gently to coat them with the garlic oil.

  4. 7

    Season and Cover

Sprinkle with red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Cover the skillet with a lid and let the clams steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until they open up.

  5. 8

    Add Lemon Juice and Parsley

Once the clams are open, remove the lid and add lemon juice and chopped parsley to the skillet. Stir to combine.

  6. 9

    Serve

Serve the clams hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired, and enjoy.
