Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mozzarella

Slice the mozzarella cheese into thick slices, about 1.5 cm each.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

Prepare three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.

  3. 3

    Bread the Mozzarella

Dredge each mozzarella slice in flour, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Make sure they are fully covered.

  4. 4

    Fry the Mozzarella

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded mozzarella slices and fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes each side. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

  5. 5

    Make the Sauce

In the same skillet, lower the heat and add the butter. Once melted, add lemon juice, capers, and chopped anchovy fillets. Stir until combined and heated through.

  6. 6

    Serve

Place the fried mozzarella on a plate and drizzle with the lemon, butter, caper, and anchovy sauce. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
