Method
Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Clams
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Rinse the clams in cold water to remove any sand or debris. Place them in a pot with a little water, cover, and steam for about 5-7 minutes until they open. Discard any clams that do not open.
- 2
Make the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the Italian breadcrumbs, grated Romano cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 3
Stuff the Clams
Once the clams are cool enough to handle, carefully remove the top shell and place the clam on the half shell. Spoon the breadcrumb mixture generously on top of each clam.
- 4
Bake the Clams
Arrange the stuffed clams on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and crispy.
- 5
Serve
Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your baked clams oreganata!
