Crab Cake Ingredients
Method
Crab Cake Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, egg, green onions, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are combined but avoid breaking up the crab meat too much.
- 2
Form the Cakes
Using your hands, shape the mixture into patties about 1 inch thick. You should be able to make about 6 crab cakes.
- 3
Chill the Cakes
Place the formed crab cakes on a baking sheet and cover them with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them firm up.
- 4
Cook the Crab Cakes
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the crab cakes in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- 5
Serve
Remove from the skillet and let drain on paper towels. Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce.
