Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Steak

Take the porterhouse steak out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This ensures even cooking.

2

Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil, then generously season both sides with salt and black pepper. Make sure to cover the edges as well.

3

Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a cast-iron skillet over high heat for about 5-10 minutes until it's very hot.

4

Cook the Steak

Place the steak on the grill or in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it, until a nice crust forms.

5

Flip and Add Aromatics

Flip the steak and add butter, garlic cloves, and rosemary to the pan/grill. Continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes, basting the steak with the melted butter and juices.

6

Check for Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, aim for around 130°F (54°C).

7

Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

8

Serve

Slice the steak and serve it on a platter. Enjoy with your favorite sides!
